How do I open links in email on Android?

27.Oct.2021

The official Gmail app has a setting for this — in the Official Gmail App:

-Open email links in [drop down menu]>Gmail.

If you don't have the official Gmail app, do one of the following: * Use your browser to open links from within an email. * Install an alternate email app that has the option to open links in your default web browser. Check out our guide to experimenting with other apps . If you're not sure which method is best, just pick one and try it out! The important thing is that you get to directly what you wanted — even if we can't always give you every little detail about how we got there along the way. :)   -Ryan and Justin (your friendly Google employees)

A: You can do that by following these steps: * Open an email message * Tap the Menu button (the three vertical dots) in the toolbar at the top of the screen * Tap More... at the bottom of the menu, and uncheck 'Open links in Gmail.' Note: If you receive or open an email from a third party webmail service such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc., you will not be able to view or reply with the Gmail app. You'll need to use the web interface for that service. We're sorry, but we can't offer support for other webmail services here.
