How do I get to know my URL on my phone?

30.Oct.2021

As a child, we may have heard the words "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." Now as adults we still hear this phrase throughout our lives. But what does this mean and how can we apply it to our daily life?

The analogy of "if you dont have anything nice to say" can be compared today as if you don't have anything nice to post on social media then simply dont post it. This also goes for posting photos online as well.  It is very easy for anyone with access to technology such as phones and computers to take a picture and share it with the world but it's not so easy when people start seeing those or images later on down the line and questions come up like: Did this person consent to having their photo taken and shared online? Was this picture edited or photoshopped in any way? Is the context of the photo being shared appropriate for social media?

These are just a few examples of things that should be considered before posting something online. There is also a chance for photos, videos, and other kinds of media to be used out of context which can have negative consequences. People often post pictures without thinking about the possibilities that may follow after they have posted it. The phrase "if you dont have anything nice to say" can teach us a lot about how we interact with others including people we don't know personally but use social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. to see what they are up to. The phrase can also teach us about how we should behave regarding how we view or share images (pics) posted by others on the internet.

The saying "if you dont have anything nice to say, don't say it at all" reminds us to consider how our words and actions can affect others. When someone says something hurtful it's easy to want to retaliate because we feel hurt too but many times when people do this they make the situation worse by causing more tension in the air. So when dealing with problems or conflicts its best not to go straight into battle mode over one small thing. Many think that having a defense mechanism is always better approach but regardless of your intentions sometimes it's best not to address things until you sit back, reflect on the situation, then decide what course of action needs to be taken next if any.

So before posting an image or comment online asking if a photo is appropriate or how it can be shared in a safe and secure manner, think for a moment about the consequences that might follow after. Likewise if you see something someone else has posted online that may not be appropriate ask yourself what would happen if somebody saw this picture or image out of context?  Before posting pictures to your social media sites have a conversation with your friends and family members so they know where their photos are going and why.
