Can I specify a custom Emoji URL?

Hi there! γƒ»γ‚œγ‚œ(´β—”ΰ±ͺβ—”)γ‚œγ‚œγƒ»γ€‚

Before we get started with this article, please be aware that I am not a developer and do not work for Slack. This information is purely found by me and tested multiple times on my own. If you ever find any of the information to be incorrect, please let me know so I can update it as soon as possible! Thank you! πŸŽ‰

This article will contain some basic guidelines on how to create your own emoji short link specific to your community or organization. You can also check out the official Slack documentation about slackbot commands here:

Now, some steps are already covered on the official documentation. But this article will contain screenshots of what you need to do- just for your convenience πŸ˜‰

I will first briefly go over some information that might be helpful for setting up your custom emoji. If you ever find yourself typing something incorrectly, please feel free to ask me any questions by leaving a comment at the end of this post! I would also appreciate it if you could properly cite where you found this information :)

Let's get started! γ€‚γƒ»γ‚œγ‚œ(γƒŽΠ”`)

On Slack's website under "Create Custom Emoji", there is a section called "Generate A Token". It looks like the image below:

You don't need to worry about this part. Just click on the "Generate Token" button and your unique token will be generated for you! The next step is to type your custom emoji URL into the Slack message box. The format for this link is as follows:<TOKEN>/<EMOJI ID>

For example, mine would look like this: γƒ»γ‚œγ‚œ(γƒŽΠ”`)

You can find any slackbot command by typing in "/help" at any time anywhere on Slack. So I typed it out below to show you what my custom emoji looked like after I typed it out myself! πŸŽ‰

If your Emoji ID seems incorrect, it might be because you did not type out your custom emoji correctlyπŸ–ŒοΈ

I hope this article was helpful to any of you wanting to create your own custom Emoji! πŸ’™

Now I can send my kawaii face whenever I need to 😹

As far as the evidence below, these images are screenshots of an original blog post at . There is no mention in the text about "with permission", but there's also nothing explicitly forbidding it either. It appears that this page is specific to creating custom emoji for private use within a Slack organization or team, not public-facing websites or apps which could potentially include people outside of an organization. It's possible that this service may not be the official Slack emoji bot, but it does appear connected to their site via a "Slack Emoji" link at the bottom of the page. There is no mention in the code or on sites about any copyrights or token systems. Since there are no explicit disclaimers I cannot recommend using these images without permission from @midorisyuuko . The images here were grabbed using a custom Imgur script by /u/eldargab on reddit  , which partially based its work off of the original Imgur script by /u/gavin19 . Please get in touch with either /u/eldargab or /u/gavin19 if you would like to know any additional details about this process.

Please let me know if I missed anything- I did my best to explain it all! γŠγ€γ‹γ‚Œγ•γΎγ§γ—γŸπŸ’¨πŸ‘»
