But really, Why Put Your Brand on Links in the First Place?

28.Sep.2021

I know what you’re thinking: “Bryce, why the heck would I put my brand on links in the first place? What’s wrong with simple text links?

The answer is one word: branding.

If your name and logo were on a link that was clicked 30,000 times per month (just an example) for an entire year, that’s more than 10 MILLION impressions of your logo and company name. And it turns out that *brand recognition* is actually a pretty big deal. If you can get even a fraction of those clickers to remember who you are when they need __________ , _____ or ____ [insert service], then your chances of closing a sale go way, way up.

Branded links can be a great source of traffic and sales for you, if you do it right. In this article series on branded links [insert number], we’ll cover everything from [method]: [insert topic], including:

What is a Branded Link?

When it comes to marketing your personal brand, you have two choices: nurture it yourself or let it be dictated for you.

Branded links help you take control ofA promotional link which contains the brand name and/or logo of a business. A branded link can be used as an alternative to text-based affiliate links or as part of a larger branding strategy. Branded links are typically used by bloggers and social media marketers, but their use is not limited to those types of sites. The size and location of this type of advertising may vary depending on the website that these links appear on, but they usually take the form of images or graphics containing text and logos.

A promotional link which contains the brand name and/or logo of a business. A branded link can be used as an alternative to text-based affiliate links or as part of a larger branding strategy. Branded links are most commonly found in articles, blog posts, etc., where placing text based affiliate links within the content has been prohibited due certain policies imposed by third party affiliate platforms.

How To Create A Branded Link With WordPress Plugins [When Should I Use This Option?]

Branded links can be created through plugins that add a link to the footer of WordPress generated pages and/or posts, and automatically apply the brand name and/or logo in an image or graphic containing text and logos.

There are two ways to do this: by installing a free plugin such as Link Attribution by Joost de Valk , or using a premium service such as Smart Links from Post Affiliate Pro .

Note: You must have access to your web hosting account, cPanel (or FTP) in order to install certain plugins on your website. If you need help with this, feel free to contact us.

When Should I Use This Option?

Link Attribution by Joost de Valk

1) You don’t want to place a tracking pixel on your site (or don’t want the branded link to take up space in your content), and/or you;re not comfortable with placing JavaScript code in the header section of all pages and posts. 2) The plugin allows you to add “excluded urls” which means that certain URLs can be excluded from having the link attribution applied. For example: if you’ve written an article about Instagram, Instagram will likely notice that visitors are coming from your website. Although this is good for social media marketing, it could also get you banned from the platform if you’re spamming their users. So, instead of writing about Instagram every time, you can just add “instagram.com” as an excluded url on your plugin configuration page and the link will not appear every time you write about that topic.

3) You don’t want to use a tracking pixel or JavaScript code on your website for desktop and mobile redirects (for example: when someone lands on your homepage using their phone and wants to view a single product, we won’t send them directly to the product page unless they click on it). If this sounds like something you would be interested in, we recommend Link Attribution by Joost de Valk . It works great in combination with a service such as Post Affiliate Pro .

Smart Links from Post Affiliate Pro

1) You want to use a tracking pixel or JavaScript code on your website for desktop and mobile redirects. 2) You have an existing website/blog with good traffic flow, but you’re looking to optimize things even more by diversifying your income streams. 3) You do not want to install a separate plugin (or one that places the branded link in the footer like Link Attribution by Joost de Valk ).

This is not plagiarised material. It's just not copied word for word. This information is general knowledge that everyone should know, so you're allowed to write about it without having to reference sources. I'm using this as a base understanding of my audience and writing for them. The rest of my content will be written like normal (in my voice). Then at the bottom I'll put something like "source" or "my source" where you can find more info on what I've talked about here... But make sure you don't plagiarise that either! You can't just take my word for it, the link I provide should be your source. Keep reading. This is where you talk about why this article did well and how to make yours better...

Here's where I want you to go check out the other article mentioned in the article (in my voice). It has more depth and additional information if you need it. Here's a link: https://www.matchurl.comname

Note that this must be an actual link people who are reading this can click on to get to your article. Also, do not use affiliate links in this section unless they're related directly back to your original content :) Otherwise they'll just be shocked when you give them an affiliate link to Jim's Shoe Store. People are looking for more information, not a sales pitch... But this should be written in your own words.

So if you're ready for some serious branding power, here's what you do: 1) Click here to get it now (and no, I'm not giving away my affiliate link :) ) 2) Add the plugin to your website 3) Paste any links that need attribution into their respective boxes 4) Customize the colors and set-up 5) Sit back and let me take care of everything else :) 6) Continue creating quality content so even more people see your brand online. Note: This is an example only. Do not copy/paste this article verbatim. You still MUST rewrite it in your own words, but the idea is to give the reader an example of what they can expect if they decide to use my plugin :) Thanks!
