So you’ve shared a great link on Twitter or Facebook and now your message is just too long and it cuts off part of the url. What do you do?

One solution to this problem is to use Moourl.com, an easy-to-use URL shortening service created by Rodrigo Franco as a challenge. Being a software engineer, he has many other projects that have been published to the web such as: Gmingle.com (a random online chatroom); Dirtyflix.com (the dirty version of IMDB); and Dandarkcastle.com (an interactive musical). His goal was to create an easy-to-use shortcut for anyone who needs it and that’s exactly what Moourl.com is.

Another solution to this problem would be to abbreviate the url with tinyurl or bitly (two other popular URL shortening services). But what makes Moourl different from these two sites is that it’s much easier to use and you don’t have to create an account in order for your links to become shortened. You can also hide an affiliate link behind a “key” that will prompt a random person who clicks on it a question about a topic of his/her choice before being redirected to the site they clicked on originally.

Although there may not be many features yet, creators are constantly adding new ones such as: custom key words and phrases, being able to paste images into a shortened link, and a bookmarker. One of the best things about Moourl is that it doesn’t clutter your browser with tons of windows or tabs all trying to take you to different pages. The only thing that shows up when you click on a link from Twitter or Facebook is a pop-up that asks if you would like to shorten your url. There’s also an email option for whenever you want to send yourself a link in case there isn’t enough room in the body of your message to do so.

Moourl really is an awesome URL shortening service and it's great for anyone who needs a quick way to share a long web address without taking up too much space in their messages!
