With BeLink, you can create and manage unlimited link shortener accounts. 

1. Login to your Back-End Dashboard at back-end.belinked.com

2. Click on the ‘Add New Account’ button

3. Enter a name for this account (e.g., General) and click on Save

4. Now, enter an email address and password to use to login to your account and click on Create Account

5. Once you have successfully created your account, go to Account Settings > Link Options tab > Redirection tab and choose one of the three redirection options:   Will redirect immediately after creation: For example: longurlWithSEOParametersWillRedirectImmediatelyAfterCreation

   Will redirect after a few seconds: For example: longurlWithSEOParametersWillRedirectAfterFewSeconds

   Will wait for a specific date and time before redirecting: For example: longurlWithSEOParametersWillWaitForSpecificDateAndTimeBeforeRedirecting

6. To learn more about each redirection option, click on the question mark icon next to it.

7. In Account Settings > Link Options tab > Expiration tab, use the options under Expire Links After field to set an expiration date for your links. You can also password protect your links by enabling the Password Protection checkbox before entering passwords in Add Password Field and Confirm Password Field .

 

8. In Account Settings > Link Options tab > Geo Targeting tab, use the options under Targeted Countries to geo-target your links. For example, if you select ‘China’ as a targeted country for geo-targeting, nobody living in China will be able to access your links.

9. Once done entering all settings, click on Save Changes button . Your edits are now saved!

How do I shorten a link?

1. Login into your account at back-end.belinked.com

2. Visit the BeLink Dashboard page by clicking here: dashboards/accounts/general (where general is the name of your account)

3. Select any content you want to shorten by either copying the URL or selecting the content you want to shorten on your screen.

4. Click on ‘Shorten’ button and...voila! It is now shortened!

How do I use BeLink as a private link shortener?

1. Click here: dashboards/accounts/general (where general is the name of your account)

2. Click on Edit button located below 'Private Links' field . You will see an input box where you can enter usernames for this account. These usernames are what would be used to access URLs generated with this specific account. So, if user Jane wants to access private/new_link, she has to use the following link: http://version.belinked.com/private/jane

3. Once done entering usernames, click on Save Changes button .

If a source parameter is provided, they will only receive a status = true with no url. If no source parameter is provided, they will get a status = false and the url.

Where do I store username and password of my BeLink account? [To be prepared in advance and not included verbatim in article] Please store your username and passwords in a secure place so that nobody else can access it. The usernames are case-sensitive! If you forget the password for your account, you won't be able to use private links anymore. You might also lose any existing URLs using this account if you continue using the same username/password combination after creating another one with new credentials. So, please make sure to keep these usernames along with their corresponding passwords safe!

Which users will see my private links and which users will see my public links? [To be prepared in advance and not included verbatim in article] If you want to create a group for your friends, colleagues or family members so that they automatically get access to your private links, simply add them as usernames in the BeLink Dashboard. Then, when you generate a new link with this account, they'll automatically receive it! Users who don't have usernames provided in their accounts won't be able to use these private links.
