Add a shortened URL to your video


When you have a website that people are going to visit after watching your YouTube video, it can be annoying for you and your viewers if they have to search for it. The best thing to do is add a shortened URL as a comment on the video. Many services offer free URL shortening, such as bitly,, or .

In order to use these services from within YouTube, simply copy and paste the long web address into Google’s URL shortener service . It will produce a much shorter version which you can share in your video description. For example, if your website address is:

Then you simply copy and paste that shortened URL into your video description, instead of the longer one linked above. Now viewers can remember where they are supposed to go!
